Because the case study is focused on the expert discussion in the field of nature protection, the theoretical section of this thesis deals with defining and explaining the terms that are relevant for this research, specifically in the areas of sustainability, sustainable area development, nature and its parts, the differences in approach to protection of nature, and the significance of protected areas with regards for the benefits they provide for nature and society. The empirical part of this thesis contains independent research. I used the case study method for the purpose of this thesis, which is suitable for this type of research. All collected data were subjected to Frameanalysis. First, I explore the evolution of the problem since the conception of the idea about instituting the national park Křivoklátsko, up to a present...

KRATOCHVÍLOVÁ, Viola
The Hučina stream is located near Černý Kříž in the Šumava National Park and is part of the Hornovltavský luh complex. The Hučina bed was modified in the past in connection with the floating of wood. After the creation and approval of the project, part of the flow was restored in 2012. Since then, there has been regular monitoring of the vegetation in this area. The aim of the bachelor thesis was to document the flora and vegetation of the Hučina floodplain seven years after hydric restoration. Methods of phytocenological relevés and groundwater level measurement were used. The meadow part of the Hučina floodplain with 14 permanent plots was monitored. A total of 42 plant species were recorded in the monitored area. The data obtained immediately after the restoration, together with the data of this bachelor thesis, are useful for monitoring the development of plant communities.

The diploma thesis Šumava National Park and Interests of its Municipalities: The Case of Postmaterial Cleavages? analyses, if the postmaterial cleavage is present in the case of Šumava National Park and how is it projected on the national level. Since the very beginning, there have been argues about the notion of the national park, where two different set of ideas collide. On the one hand, there are local municipalities which depend on incomes from tourism, on the other hand, the environmentalists seek for growing extent of areas without any human intervention. The theoretical background is based on concept of cleavages by S. Rokkan and S.M. Lipset. Special attention is paid to the postmaterial dimension of the cleavage, which was evolved by R. Inglehart. The analytical part consists of case study, which examines the attitudes of the stakeholders. The examination is based on semi-structured interviews with mayors, official documents and media coverage of the topic. According to the findings, there is a cleavage, which is visible on all levels of political system, including political parties and presidents.

Furthermore, the conceptual and economic instruments (both positive and negative stimulation) are also examined. Next, the thesis focuses on the institutional framework of the large-scale nature conservation in the examined countries and on the evaluation of the scope of the nature protection authorities' competence.
